The Home Place Thrift Store

April 26, 2022
Press Release

Prairie Harvest Mental Health to close The Home Place Thrift Store, but programming to expand.  Serving individual’s mental health concerns will remain the main focus.

Beginning immediately, The Home Place Thrift Store will no longer be accepting donations as the store prepares to close permanently.  Depending on the movement of merchandise and sale of assets the actual closing date may occur sooner, but the final day will be June 30, 2022.

The purpose of The Home Place was to support programming and housing at Prairie Harvest Mental Health, but because of a changing environment the agency can no longer dedicate funding to sustain operations.

We close this chapter of our history knowing that we provided work opportunities for people with disabilities as well as provided household goods and clothing at no charge for families in need.

The Home Place is one of the many services developed by Prairie Harvest Mental Health for adults with mental health needs.  Housing, Case Management, Community Based Support Services, Life Skills, and Job Development are some of the programs that will remain available in the community.  Other services are in development.

We would like to thank the community for its support and donations over the years.
